Reports from financial counsellors and personal support workers indicate that access to dental care is a major problem for their clients. Long waiting lists in the public sector and the requirement for a co-payment when treatment is received, may discourage the regular use of dental care by more disadvantaged groups. A survey of aspects of access to dental care was undertaken in September 2004. Responses to the survey on dental care were received from 54 clients of UnitingCare Wesley Adelaide financial counselling, break even gambling and personal support program (Clients). This report documents these results.
