This study reports on the experiences of 55 casual workers. This study asks - and offers some answers - to five key questions about casual work: 1. Are casuals really ongoing employees? Is true insecurity exaggerated? 2. Are casual jobs `good' jobs or `bad' jobs? 3. Do casual jobs meet employee preferences for flexibility? 4. Are casual jobs a pathway to better jobs and to ongoing work? 5. Are casual terms remaking work environments in Australia?
