The Adelaide City Council (ACC) has prepared a new strategic management plan to guide development of the City over the period 2003-2010. This plan is entitled "New Directions." A key input to the delivery of New Directions is the development of an integrated transport strategy, which will provide a high level of transport accessibility to, from and within the City, meeting the needs of residents, workers, students and visitors in an environmentally sustainable way. This transport strategy has a clear focus on achieving a balance between car, public transport, bicycle and walking modes.
This present report is concerned with transport economics, complementing strategic directions developed in the respective parallel studies and providing an assessment of the principal transport impacts of the New Directions targets.
