Recycling of Surface Water in Adelaide  [PDF]  (42.68K)

South Australia is known as the driest state in the driest continent, and the lack of water is a constraint to state development. Traditionally most of the water supply is piped directly from the River Murray or from groundwater resources. This paper outlines research and development which has been underway in South Australia over the past few years focussing on the injection, storage and recovery of storm water and treated domestic water into shallow unconfined and deep confined aquifer systems.
