borderlands is a refereed international journal that aims to promote transdisciplinary work across the humanities, work which might also intersect with diverse practices and sites in culture, policy and everyday life.

This outlines various papers available from the Borderland E journal which focus on issues and debates relating to borders, knowledge, and power. This first issue focuses specifically on borderphobias: the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, and the insecurity politics which has emerged to dominate western states in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11.
