The electorates of Wakefield and Kingston are among the top 50 worst affected areas in the nation under the proposed Welfare to Work changes, says new analysis released by Australian Council of Social Service.

The report, "Who is worse off? The regional distribution of people affected by the Welfare to Work policy" shows the bulk of the electorates with the highest numbers of people worse off were in rural areas in the north or west of Australia. "In South Australia, the hardest-hit areas will be the electorates of Wakefield, which runs from Clare to Salisbury, and Kingston, from O'Halloran Hill to Sellicks Beach," says Karen Grogan, Executive Director of the South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS).
