Somewhere to Call Home - Supported Residential Facilities: The sector its clientele and its future  [PDF]  (1.61M)

Supported Residential Facilities are accommodation services licensed under the Supported Residential Facilities Act 1992 to provide accommodation and personal care to their residents. People living in Supported Residential Facilities generally have some form of disability or impairment such that they require assistance in order to function on a day-to-day basis.

Despite accommodating some of the most vulnerable people in our community, until recently there has been little documentation of who lives in SRFs, their level of disability and care needs. This research is designed to provide clear information about the resident population, and, will greatly enhance knowledge of the sector and the needs of the people who inhabit it.
