National Guidelines for Managing Donated Goods

This publication has been launched by the Honourable Nicola Roxon MP, Minister for Emergency Management.

The research into the topic of donated goods after disasters, and the writing of the national guidelines was all undertaken by the State Recovery Office, Department for Communities and Social Inclusion in South Australia and funded by the Attorney General's Department, National Capability Development Branch in Canberra. The guidelines have been endorsed by the National Emergency Management Committee and will shortly be presented to the Standing Committee on Police and Emergency Management. The guidelines strongly recommend a change in the behaviour of the public.
