South Australia's Waste Strategy 2010-2015: Consultation Draft

Zero Waste SA, Government of South Australia
Zero Waste SA, Government of South Australia

The Draft South Australia's Waste Strategy 2010-2015 has been released for public comment. The draft Strategy guides South Australia's recycling and waste avoidance efforts for the next five years. The focus of the Strategy is on reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and an emphasis on sustainability and community engagement. The Strategy builds on the work achieved to date, reflects an improved national focus on waste, and recognises sustainability as a key principle for prosperity. The Strategy has two objectives. Firstly, it seeks to maximise the value of our resources, and secondly, it seeks to avoid and reduce waste. These two objectives are inter-related, and some actions apply to both objectives. The Strategy proposes new targets for municipal, commercial and industrial and construction and demolition waste streams.

Zero Waste SA is inviting comment on the draft strategy. Submision will close 5pm Friday 8 October 2010.
