The KidsMatter Primary Mental Health Initiative has a focus on mental health care, the prevention of mental health problems and responding appropriately to mental health issues when they arise.
KidsMatter Primary was evaluated by an independent evaluation team based at Flinders University. In the second half of 2009, the Ministerial Advisory Committee: Students with Disabilities worked with the KidsMatter Evaluation team to further analyse the evaluation data with specific interest in the South Australian students with a disability who participated in the initiative.
This report presents the findings of this further analysis and finds that there were significant positive improvements in mental health and wellbeing for students with a disability and this is attributed to the impact of the KidsMatter Primary Initiative.
