This paper highlights that evaluations can contribute both to organisational transparency and also to the accountability to clients, stakeholders and funders. However, for these evaluations to be truly effective they need to be strongly linked and informed by the original goals of the organisation, service or project. Evaluation should be designed at the time of planning and be an ongoing element within an organisation's processes.
