Aboriginal heritage is a unique and irreplaceable part of South Australia's history and heritage that requires effective protection and management. Respect for and recognition of Aboriginal heritage is important for Aboriginal identity and community wellbeing. This Scoping Paper is designed to describe the context of and reasons for reviewing the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988 (the AHA). It provides general information, and is designed to stimulate discussion about the future of heritage protection and management in South Australia.
