Developing strategies to reduce the prevalence of unplanned teenage pregnancies in South Australia, and supporting young people in relation to pregnancy and the parenting role, are key objectives for Metropolitan Division and under the Healthy Start plan. This research study explored the perceptions of young women who had experienced an unplanned teenage pregnancy with regards to contraception, conception, decision making, pregnancy, support and services. It is one of three reports from a project conducted by the Research, Analysis and Information Team in Metropolitan Division.
