This study has undertaken longitudinal statistical analysis of the Families SA Client Information System in order to explore the extent to which a cohort of children (born in 1991) have come into contact with the South Australian child protection system, the nature of the contact, outcomes and patterns. Some comparative analysis has also been conducted on cohorts born in 1998 and 2002. The project has been a joint initiative of Families SA and the Research and Analysis Unit in the South Australian Department for Families & Communities.
