This paper was prepared for the Health in All Policies conference in Adelaide, South Australia, November 2007, jointly hosted by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Health. It examines the interactions between health outcomes and a number of targets across the six objectives of South Australia's Strategic Plan.It aims to stimulate thinking by policy makers around some of the positive and negative impacts of public policies created outside the health sector on health in and of our communities. It is a mechanism to prompt policy advisors and decision-makers to include a broader consideration of the health-related issues and implications of proposed government, business and community sector actions.
