With 1 million page requests from South Australian Policy Online (SAPO) users anticipated this year there are plenty of reasons to celebrate SAPO's 5th birthday. Interest in SAPO has grown enormously over the last few years with nearly 2500 subscribers to the SAPO fortnightly newsletter. There are now over 800 publications on SAPO, covering a diverse range of topics. SAPO has also become a one stop shop for information on research seminars and conferences. New features include regular news and opinion pieces and an overview of who is doing what research in South Australia in our resources section. Over the next year we plan to introduce online videos and blogs, so watch out for these and other innovations to SAPO. Thanks to the ongoing support of South Australia's three major Universities, the South Australian Government and the Don Dunstan Foundation, South Australian Policy Online has become one of the state's most important research publication websites. Thank you to my colleagues on the SAPO Management Committee Professor Ed Carson, Claire Bossley, Geoff Anderson and Sally Cunningham. The development of SAPO has been greatly assisted by the University of Adelaide web development team and our SAPO project officers based in the Australian Institute for Social Research. Many thanks to Sanjugta Vas Dev who was involved in the early development of SAPO and continued to maintain the site till late last year when Sanjugta took on a new role as a researcher. We are now very fortunate to have Tracey Parnis working with us. Many thanks for your support of SAPO. We always welcome your feedback and suggestions. Happy 5th birthday SAPO. Associate Professor John Spoehr
