The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) will be designed to deliver the skills required to operate successfully at the highest levels of the public service with an emphasis on management, policy analysis and development, and service delivery. ANZSOG is a consortium of Australian and New Zealand governments, universities and business schools, delivering world-class education and research in the area of public policy and management. As members of ANZSOG, Carnegie Mellon Heinz School Australia and Flinders University will now deliver parts of ANZSOG's programs in Adelaide. Mr. Tim Zak, Executive Director of Carnegie Mellon Heinz School Australia said "We're very pleased to join the other great member universities across Australia and New Zealand in ANZSOG. We look forward to expanding our ongoing partnership with Flinders University to deliver this program to future public sector leaders". South Australia's membership within this consortium is of strategic importance, enhancing the State's public policy and management capability providing more development opportunities for current and future public sector leaders. Flinders University Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Andrew Parkin, said the EMPA would be offered for the first time in 2009 and is expected to be supported by ten scholarships every second year from the State Government.
