The Australian Institute for Social Research (AISR) at The University of Adelaide was selected by WorkCover SA to provide the RTW Fund evaluation over three years to end July 2012, with the contract finalised between the two organisations on 23 July 2009. This evaluation was designed to develop, implement, collect and analyse both performance (monitoring) data and outcome and impact (evaluative) data to provide an assessment of the efficiency, effectiveness and appropriateness of the Initiative. OZ Minerals commissioned the Australian Institute for Social Research to provide a demographic and socio-economic profile of Aboriginal people in the Central North Area of South Australia (CNSA) to help inform the development of strategies designed to maximise employment opportunities for Aboriginal people from growth in the mining sector. This research takes place in the context of an increase in investment by OZ Minerals and other mining companies in exploration and new projects. Data is also presented for other adjacent areas and/or major population centres from which a workforce population can be drawn. [
