Conference Information Soft tissue injuries comprise the majority of injuries arising from trauma on the roads and in the workplace. Despite the need and obvious benefits of compensation, those who suffer these injuries and find themselves navigating the compensation systems often have poorer health and social outcomes, however these are measured, than people with the same injuries outside compensation settings. In addition, many service providers are seeking clarity about how to best work with people who have these injuries to optimise their chances of recovery.
This important conference will explore ways of achieving optimum health, social and return to work outcomes for people injured on our roads and in the workplace. The conference themes are: Recognised best practice management of soft tissue injuries The compensation setting Return to work and the community Building capacity (through research, education and training) This multidisciplinary conference will bring together health care providers, rehabilitation providers, claims/case managers, lawyers, personal injury insurers, actuaries, health economists, policy makers, people responsible for mainstream health system reforms, those injured in road crashes and workplace accidents and their advocates.
