You are invited to attend the next seminar in our Building Knowledge to Make a Difference series. These research seminars are a platform for School staff & students to showcase innovation and academic research within the field of Social Work & Social Policy.
This seminar will explore current research in the area of Cultural Competency and will address incorporating a Cultural Competency framework in the areas of micro, messo and macro approaches to Social Work and Human Service work.
The session will not only focus on critiquing individual skills but will begin to address organisational issues from a Cultural Competency framework.
Relevant Diversity Perspectives in Social Work and Human Service work will also be discussed.
Sophie Diamandi has been the manager of the Cultural Diversity project for seven years. There has been a large component of training, development and consultancy involved in this project in the area of Cultural Competency. Consultancy, training and development work has focussed in specific areas of aged care, child protection, housing , welfare, families, migrants and refugees.
Sophie has been an academic at UniSA, in the School of Social Work & Social Policy, for the last 16 years.
