Sport and people with disabilities workshop, 14 March
The Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS) invites people with disabilities, athletes with disabilities, parents and carers to workshop "connecting sport and people with disabilities". One of the areas to be discussed is the role of organisations in servicing the ongoing involvement by people with disabilities in sport. ORS is about to commence a review of the Framework for Physical Activity, Recreation and Sport for People with a Disability and this is an opportunity for the community to provide valuable insight into providing the best possible opportunities for people with disabilities at all levels of involvement, including but not limited to skill development, social participation, competitive participation and elite.
The Office values direct input from people with disabilities who participate, or would like to participate in sport. This session is for people with disabilities, athletes with disabilities, parents and/or carers. The information gathered will be collated and used to assist in developing sport opportunities that meet the needs of people with disabilities in South Australia.
