Policy and its enactment: a research and policy dialogue on `VET'

An international policy forum sponsored by:
Hawke Research Institute for Sustainable Societies

Department of Further Education, Employment Science and Technology

Centre for Studies in Literacy Policy and Learning Cultures

Vocational education and training provision is increasingly shaped by global policy debates about the promises of vocational education and training. `Constant change' scenarios associated with globalisation and new knowledge economies provide compelling reasons for exploring how research and policy have shaped and been shaped by emerging needs and practices across adult, further and higher education. Within the frames of lifelong learning, knowledge societies and knowledge economies, these issues have profound effects on our shared futures as educators, workers and citizens.

This forum provides a chance for international and Australian researchers to respond to contemporary trends and issues embedded in the policy challenges of our times, with particular grounding in the local context of South Australia's most recent policy initiatives concerning VET and work: SA Works, New Times New Ways, New Skills and Skills for the Future.
