Monday, 17 September 2007 - Tuesday, 18 September 2007
University of Adelaide
Conference Brochure  [PDF]  (117.89K)

Conference Outline
The Asia-Pacific provides a diverse experience of the culture and practice of Intelligence. Intelligence holds different meanings depending on who you are and where you come from. Decision-makers and societies are increasingly looking to Intelligence Agencies and analysts with the expectation that these organizations and individuals provide a `first line of defence' against an increasingly diverse threat environment. This conference examines two aspects of Intelligence of critical importance in understanding the field; culture and practice. The culture of intelligence determines how Intelligence Agencies operate, what they collect and the assessments they develop. These intelligence cultures in turn drive its practice. The practical challenges of Intelligence are at the heart of making intelligence and analysis effective. This conference considers some of the practical problems facing Intelligence Analysts today from a multidisciplinary perspective. The Conference is the second in an annual series examining intelligence and security in the Asia-Pacific.
