Professor Tessa Morris-Suzuki is Professor of Japanese History, Division of Pacific and Asian History, in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies at the ANU. Her research interests include the social history of Japanese technology, national identities and ethnic minorities in Japan, and globalisation processes in Northeast Asia. She is the author of Henkyo Kara Nagameru [The View From the Frontier] (2000), Re-inventing Japan; Time, Space, Nation (1998), and has recently completed a book on popular representations of history in the Japanese media.
