Glowing in the dark - a natural history of radioactivity
20 Apr 2005
Dr Joel Brugger
Joel is a geochemist at Adelaide University (and mineralogist at the museum!) and he will take us on an exploration of the invisible world of natural radioactivity. What are the connections between the discovery of the nature of the atom, hot rocks, magical lipstick and health spas under the red gums in the Northern Flinders? And by the way, does uranium really glow in the dark?
