As Australia seeks to increase participation in paid work, how much do Australian workers want to work? Join CEDA in partnership with Safework SA to hear answers to these questions as we host the national launch of new research investigating recent experiences of workers from workplaces across Australia.

How much should we work? Working hours, holidays and working life: the participation challenge. The Australian Work and Life Index 2010 is the latest annual national survey of work-life interaction amongst working Australians from the Centre for Work + Life at the University of South Australia.

The report analyses the March 2010 survey of 2800 workers who answered questions related to work-life balance and their use of leave, and draws upon four consecutive years of AWALI data to examine the policy implications of work-life patterns in Australia.

Speakers include:

  • Gerardine Kearney, President, ACTU

  • Barbara Pocock, Director, Centre for Work + Life

  • Dr Natalie Skinner, Senior Researcher, Centre for Work + Life
