First given in 1979, the Investigator Lecture is named after Matthew Flinders' ship, as well as for the spirit of intellectual inquiry that it aims to foster.
At the 2010 Investigator Lecture, Professor Tim Flannery will discuss his journey from being a palaeontologist to a participant in the climate debate, and how his experience in palaeontology helped him make sense of climate science. Tim will also discuss the ice-core data and its implications for the next century, concluding with a re-evaluation of the importance of the Copenhagen meeting.
