Orator: Mr Hieu Van Le AO - Lieutenant Governor of South Australia and Chairman of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission.

In 2010, South Australia will start celebrating 175 years of European settlement. In 2036, the State will mark its bicentenary. What type of person will the average South Australian be when that bicentenary comes around? Where will that person have come from? What will they believe? How will they live? How will they see and relate to the world?

Mr Le will discuss his vision of the State in 2036 and talk about the kind of people South Australians will be - and will need to be. He will argue that refugees, migrants, multiculturalism and long-standing national values all have a positive role to play in shaping a globally constructive, open and outward-looking South Australia of the mid 21st Century.
