From Plains to Plate is a convergence of ideas and skills from community, business and government focussed on strengthening South Australia's food systems in the face of intensifying environmental, social and economic challenges.
The convergence will examine food and agriculture through a number of streams, including urban planning and growth, agriculture and the environment, public health and food access, education and sustainability, and economics and policy.
From Plains to Plate will open with a free public forum jointed presented by Friends of Earth Australia and the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre. Food writer and former restaurateur Gay Bilson will lead a small panel, including permaculture farmer and educator Graham Brookman and community food systems expert Clare Nettle.
Visit the From Plains to Plate website for more information, including the full program, speakers and registration details.
