The Southgate Journal Club is an initiative of the Southgate Institute to engage researchers and bring them together to discuss issues relevant to cross-disciplinary research and methodology.
This meeting will start with a light lunch at 12.15pm followed by facilitated discussions of 2 papers:
Mapping the determinants of health inequalities in social space: can Bourdieu help us? by Anthony C. Gatrell, Jennie Popay, Carol Thomas. Discussion facilitated by: Dr Dominic Keuskamp, Research Fellow, Southgate Institute for Health, Society & Equity.
The politics of suffering: Indigenous policy in Australia since the 1970s by Peter Sutton. Discussion facilitated by: Associate Professor Eileen Willis, Head, Social Health Sciences.
