Toronto's Regent Park is Canada's largest and oldest community housing project. Now, after years of neglect, the city has pledged to redevelop the entire area.

Regenerating Regent Park: Canada's largest revitalization project. Dr Mitchell E Kosny, Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at Ryerson University and Chair of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation. Centre for Building and Planning Studies, Sustainable Urban Design Seminar Series 2005. Regent Park is a 69-acre area in central Toronto which houses 7500 people in 2100 'rent-geared-to-income' units. The Toronto Community Housing Corporation has now started a 12-year, $1bn project to knit social, physical, environmental and economic development perspectives together in the largest revitalisation project in Canada's history.
