Energy Realities Seminar  [PDF]  (284.19K)

Convened by Professor Young, Director of the Environment Institute, on the evening of World Environment Day Energy Realities is a public forum that invites you to join the debate about the future of energy production. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a panel of eminent scientists who will present various aspects of the current energy debate.

Professor Aleklett, President for the Association for the Study of Peak Oil & Gas (ASPO), will present an overview of diminishing fossil fuel reserves. Professor Brook, Sir Hubert Wilkins Chair of Climate Change at the University of Adelaide, will provide a reasoned debate about how we cannot ignore nuclear power as a low carbon emitting source of sustainable energy. Professor Nathan, Director of the Centre for Energy Technology, will argue that integration between renewable and traditional energy production methods is an economically sensitive option as we move towards the adoption of alternative energy sources.
